We are natural aquatic farmers, utilizing ecologically sustainable farming methods. Mother nature uses a food chain and natural biological cycles within the natural environment. You must always work with nature, and create the same natural systems within your dams.
Natural farming is about creating a natural, balanced ecosystem within your dam. Our natural aquatic production cycle is very simple. Within a pond we have silver perch which we feed, they create wastes which the yabbies clean up, using it to naturally grow and multiply within the pond. We also have freshwater mussels in the ponds that live, breed and multiply within the pond at the same time purifying the water for the silver perch and yabbies. The silver perch also act as a host for the larval mussels to develop into new baby mussels. Plus the yabbies multiply creating a high protein food source for the silver perch.
As the yabbies grow, we remove them for food, this creates dam food and space for the smaller yabbies to grow up and replace them. As the silvers grow we remove them for food and stock with new fingerlings. It’s all about naturally producing food for yourself and your family.
